New Amsterdam’s Summer Programs for ages 2 - 8 years allows children to enjoy the dreamy pace of summertime within a consistent daily and weekly rhythm.

Children are nourished in our home-like campus, and enjoy purposeful and creative projects and play, and plenty of time outdoors. An organic, vegetarian meal, and snacks, will be provided daily for full day campers.

Designed to encourage children to explore the wonders of nature, our summer programs incorporate outdoor picnics, nature-based arts and crafts, gardening, abundant open play in our partner community garden, and outings to the Tompkins Square Park sprinklers.

Every week will be filled activities carefully chosen to create an engaging experience for young children.

This mixed-age programs begin daily at 9:00am daily, and have a 12:30 pm for dismissal of half-day campers (lunch not included).

Full-day children stay until 3:00 pm, and enjoy lunch together followed by a quiet, cool down and rest time. The day finishes with a shared snack and self-directed play!
